Spencer Bull
After 29 years serving in the British Army as an Infantry Officer, Spencer was Medically Discharged in 2017 with Multiple Sclerosis. Prior to his diagnosis in 2005, he had commanded on numerous operations and exercises around the world, trained new recruits and filled various headquarter staff appointments. During the last 10 years of service he worked in Army Welfare, was responsible for liaison with service charities and commanded a Personal Recovery Unit.
It was a challenging period in his life coming to terms with the uncertainty created by his illness and the impact it was having on the whole family. He is now a fulltime wheelchair user. Since leaving he has volunteered with a number of charities, and is passionate about passing on his learned lessons and educating the next generation.
He was extremely fortunate to be selected for Team UK at the INVICTUS Games in Sydney 2018, competing in sailing and swimming. He has also been selected for the Games in 2022 at the Hague (postponed since 2020). ‘We (Family) all live with MS, but that does not stop me from Living for the day whilst planning for the future!’.
Spencer is married with three children and a fast growing puppy called Lola!
